Timeless & Simple
They Won’t Stay This Little Forever
Welcoming a new life to your family is an exciting time.
Capturing the love and excitement of a sweet newborn is one of my favorite things ever. A Newborn session is a session done in your home with my studio set up or at the studio. This ensures your family is comfortable and has everything you could possibly need easily accessible. The more comfortable you are, the more we can focus on the love for that new life. The connection to the family.
Session Details:
Sessions are usually scheduled during the weekdays at morning time. 9:00 A.M - 11:00 A.M
I look forward to meeting you and your new bundle of joy! Here are some questions I'm frequently asked
When is the best time to do photos?
The optional time to do newborn photos is their first week of life. I usually schedule sessions 3-10 days after the birth (but no necessary), which means you should book your newborn photos in advance. I usually tell moms, booking within their 2nd trimester makes for good planning. With that being said, while the first week is the optimal time, I do take newborns up to one month; just know that the "older" they get, often times, the longer the session might be. Your baby will be more alert and more awake the "older" it gets, but there are things we can do to help make a session go smoother- we can chat if your baby is "older."
Do I need anything for the session?
The simple answer is NO! Depending on the package you choose, I will bring my studio props to you- including different color swaddles, wraps, bonnets, headbands, bowls, etc. That's the great part of choosing me for your session!
Where do you usually set up your session inside my home?
When I arrive, I will look around at the most optimal place to setup. I won't need a ton of space, but usually the living areas or dining areas are the best for me. I do have studio lighting as well, so don't worry too much about window/natural light. Just know, second floor rooms are off limits for me since I have to hull everything upstairs for setup and clean up.
What should I wear?
If you plan on doing family portraits, I do not travel with backdrops, so I will be using your nursery, bedroom or even a blank wall. When thinking of what to wear, I usually recommend light colors (whites, creams, pinks, blues, etc.). I would avoid anything with flashy colors, stripes/patterns and or writing. I usually wrap the baby in a cream, white or colored swaddle to match.
How do I pick out what I want to use for the session?
We will discuss color schemes and what you envision for your session beforehand. I will also bring a ton of different props for you to choose from. Looking at my website/facebook/instagram in advance for colors and/or poses can be helpful that you may want to recreate.
When can I expect my photos back after the session?
A lightly edited gallery will be provided of all the images worth editing within 2-3 weeks of your session. This is the gallery in which you will choose which images will be part of your package. Additional images can also be purchased for an additional cost (refer to contract). Once you select the final images, I will hand touch/edit each image.
